Chapter Events

Description:  August 5th-7th 2010, the Kappa Luau (Greek on the Beach) will be held in Wildwood, NJ. It is a family & friends weekend geared towards the unity of greek letter fraternal organizations. There will be multiple events happening over the course of the 3 day weekend, including a charity breakfast. Portion of proceeds will go towards helping young men get to college and having the supplies needed to be successful.

Description:  Acacia Fraternity will be hosting a philanthropy event to fundraise for the local Boys and Girls Club in Saint Cloud, MN. All proceeds will go to the Boys and Girls Club. The event will consist of tournaments in volleyball, tug of war, three legged races, a limbo dance, and a kissing booth. Each of these events will cost $1.00 for entry. In addition, entry into the event itself will be $1.00. Food and beverages will also be sold. The event will last from 12:00pm until 6:00pm

Description:  We’ve become the hosts of what was initiated as a small annual BBQ to a celebration that has become open to the community. Over the years this meek comradeship has evolved into a regale known as Crabfest. Each year we have experienced greater numbers attending this outdoor event than that of the year prior. A makeup of areas from within and outside NJ including: Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, and California to name a few, have represented the assembly, upward of 800 people and possibly more, who attend the event each summer.

Description:  The National Pan-Hellenic Council at Auburn University is planning a 5K walk/run. This event will kick off the university's annual NPHC week. Our intent is to promote health awareness and to advocate healthy life styles within the African American community.It is also our goal to include other Black greek letter organizations in our efforts.

Description:  Derby Days is Sigma Chi's annual philanthropy and the largest fraternity philanthropy at the University of California, Irvine. For the past three years it has won the an award for being the Most Outstanding Fraternity Philanthropy and over the past four years has raised and donated over $50,000 to the Huntsman Cancer Foundation, Children's Miracle Network, and UC Irvine.

The event is week long and involves every Panhellenic Sorority on campus and every day there is a host of different events.

Description:  Kappa Alpha Theta hosts a softball tournament that is open any Uconn students or people of the surrounding town. There is a seperate tournment for the men and the women and it is an all day event. It costs $50 for a team of 10 people to participate in the tournmament. The money raised goes to our national philanthropy which is Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). This philanthropy helps children who are struggling through the foster care system.

Description:  This party is a campus wide party for people to come fellowship but for a cause. Our organization strive for sucecss in higher education and want to have this party in order to raise funds for a scholarship that will be given out in the spring semester to a deserving high school male or ethnic decent.

Description:  This is an event that offers the student community a chance to present themselves in an elegant fashion and enjoy leisure entertainment. The proceeds from the program/ad booklet are awarded to the recipient of our annual scholarship.

Description:  In an effort to help the less fortunate in the Columbus Community, Epsilon Chapter members, along with student volunteers, travel door-to-door in the OSU community collecting canned and non-perishable food items to donate to families identified by the ACCESS Collaborative Program. Epsilon Chapter members and student volunteers sort the food items and package them for distribution. The gift boxes, which include a complete Thanksgiving meal of turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce are donated.

Description:  This is the Mercer University's Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi's Annual Philanthropy event. It is a week-long three on three basketball tournament with a barbeque dinner at the conclusion of the event. All proceeds go towards the Ronald McDonald House of Macon Georgia.

Description:  This event is our annual fundraiser for the Tau Omega Charitable Trust, the §501 (c) (3) philanthropic entity of Tau Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Through The Tau Omega Charitable Trust, Tau Omega awards college scholarships and supports youth-oriented service initiatives such as Books for Babies with Harlem Hospital, The Teen Parent Program, and the Ivy Reading Academy, a tutoring service for elementary school children.

Description:  The Theta Xi chapter of Alpha Phi holds an annual Turkey Bowl every November. It is a friendly game of touch football played between all of the sororities and fraternities on campus. The games are played at the football stadium on campus. All of the proceeds from Turkey Bowl are donated to our philanthropy, the Alpha Phi Foundation. The Foundation helps support cardiac care and prevention for women. We sell food in the concession stand and have a drawing of donated items to raise more money.

Needs:  We would like to get either t-shirts or jerseys made for Turkey Bowl this year. Each senior class passes down t-shirts and Alpha Phi memorabilia as they graduate. These t-shirts or jerseys would be passed down for many years and several generations of Shippensburg students would see them.

Description:  Towson University's Alpha Phi hosts a Wing Bowl every spring. All the sororities and fraternies come to buy wings, watch or participate in wing eating contests and enter in raffles. All of the proceeds go towards the Alpha Phi Foundation and the American Heart Association.

Description:  The Delta Chi Fraternity and the Alpha Phi Sorority are teaming up to host a Texas Hold ‘em poker tournament on March 22. Participants will pay an entry fee for the tournament and all proceeds will go directly to each of our sponsored charities, The V Foundation for Cancer Research and The Alpha Phi Foundation supporting cardiac health. The tournament is open to anyone who wants to play, and all the players will know that their efforts will be helping great causes.

Description:  We are in the stages of planning our next Spontaneous Dance. This is an event where the sisters know when and where the dance will be held but are not allowed to know the theme until the week of the dance. This leaves them little time to get a clever outfit together. We weren't able to hold any dances in the spring so we need help to get the word out and to make this dance one of our best yet. We thought the best idea would be for us to get t-shirts made to publicize this event.

Description:  First let me open with saying that this is taking place in CONNECTICUT (CT). For some reason the state would not change.

I have volunteered to be a Morale Captain for an 18 hour dance marathon, HUSKYthon, held at the University of Connecticut.

What is HUSKYthon?
- HUSKYthon is on February 21, 2009.
- HuskyTHON is an 18 Hour Dance Marathon event, where students from the University of Connecticut stay standing to raise money for the Connecticut Children's Medical Center

- HuskyTHON is a 100% volunteer opportunity – it is students giving back to their community

- Over 50 student organizations participate in the HuskyTHON event, including a majority of the UCONN Greek Community

- HuskyTHON is turning 8 years old this year, and has raised over $100,000!

Description:  Alpha Tau Omega Vegas Night is the largest student run philanthropy on Ohio State's Campus. It is an evening where individuals can play a wide variety of games to raise money for The Jim Tressel Family Fund For Cancer Research. In the years past, we have donated up to $10,000 per year. No money is retained by ATO itself, all goes directly towards donations.

Expected Attendance, 500-1000 young business professionals, parents, and a small percentage of students.

It is a black tie event.

Description:  The Virginia State University NPHC is comprised of nine Greek lettered organizations, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc., Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Sigma Gamma Rho Fraternity, Inc., Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc, and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. These nine organizations work collectively to compromised community service endeavors amongst their service areas. Every spring these nine organizations put of a spring step show for the campus of VSU. First place winners, one from a fraternity and one from a sorority, are awarded $1,000 dollars and trophy. Second place winners also receive a trophy and a monetary gift of $500. This annual competition has been known to unite students and bring back alumni from each respective organization. This year the VSU NPHC is looking to expand their show from their school’s gym to a bigger entertainment venue to accommodate the growing crowd of this event but a sponsor is need to help accommodate some costs of the venue, as well as, promotions.
